KB / About

Since 2022, KB_ has been a budding platform where a group of related artists could share their music and draft ideas, starting with the partnership of gabriel de oliveira and Niels Luteijn while both studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Over the years, what was originally a mock-project took shape partly as an independent label, with Luteijn managing the recording, production and releases of music online, and another part as a live music program, with oliveira organizing events, collaborations and performance projects across different disciplines in and around Amsterdam.

KB_'s focus on nourishing community into honing new practices and scenes collectively - and supplying the resources for such - has made several opportunities possible: the formation of large ensemble Saturno Santos' Something (see "Artists"), funded album recordings, international touring and collaborations for Beatrice Sberna & Gabriel de Oliveira, choreography productions, musical direction for Pedro Kastelijns & qbae, among others, and several nights of rich musical programming between a beloved community and its aggregates.

In 2024, the collective has given special care to establishing constant live music activities, connecting to venues, developing DIY skills and a network of living rooms, and expanding collaborations internationally: New York, Brussels or São Paulo special guests have been seen monthly this season! Between April and July, KB_ had 3 of its events supported by the AFK, and made several friends. Ears peeled!
